4/26 ~ Pallas enters Pisces (before Retro in Pisces/Direct in Aquarius)
January 2016 – April 2017 ~ Pallas will be moving back and forth through Aquarius & Pisces. According to Asteroid Goddesses by Demetra George, Pallas “describes how we face the issues of learning, creativity, the arts, politics, healing, alienation from relationships, competition, and the fear of success”. As she moves through Aquarius, we all get a dose of the wisdom of the future, of humanity operating at its highest level and working together en masse. However, the Retrograde suggests we will have to sort through much to determine the priorities at this time. Advancement is wonderful, however, we are only in the infancy of this new age, we need practice, surrender & resourcefulness. As she moves into Pisces, she reveals where we’ve deluded ourselves and each other but also where the magic & potential for wholeness resides. We must open to our own innate wisdom, the wisdom of the heart, soul, mind & body, they all work together for the greater good. You might also look at this as Pallas’ completing her trip through the zodiac, earned wisdom over the last 4-5 years, that we can/will apply going forward by April 2017, one year from now. So this retrograde is a blessing that allows us to get the most out of all that we’ve learned since we began anew in 2012. Wow!
4/28 ~ Mercury Retro in Taurus (until 5/22)
April 5 – June 12, 2016 ~ Mercury will be moving back and forth through Taurus, stimulating 2nd House issues of values, priorities, comforts, food, sex & money and your personal stability and ability to maintain your life, as you maintain a garden. It also has a lot to do with your self-worth & self-esteem and what you feel worthy of experiencing this lifetime. This is an extended blessing this Spring, allowing you to cultivate your true values and reprioritize your life based on what is most important to you and your ability to thrive & prosper. Earth’s abundance is infinite but it also requires that we honor the natural cycles of life, sometimes referred to as the Life/Death/Life Cycle. Any planet’s extended stay in Taurus is getting you present to Mother Earth, the Elements and creative principle of Life itself. Mercury rules your ideas, thoughts & concepts so this is tremendous support for the containers of your creative ideas and the necessary additional time it may take to flesh them out, make them beautiful and sustainable. Use this time to tune in to Nature, get grounded, clear clutter, create beauty in your environment and assess what you have and what you need, in order to move through the next season most abundantly supported.
4/29 ~ Venus enters Taurus (until 5/24)
Venus rules Taurus & Libra and is at home in either, only her focus shifts ever-so slightly. In Taurus, the values & priorities are pretty literal and reflect what you value about your Self as well as in the world or in your relationships. Venus rules our magnetics, what we are naturally attracted to or repelled by so if you are attracting things, people or circumstances that you do not care for, then your only control is to shift your own magnetics. New response. New result. This is usually the time of year when we are focused on new beginnings, growth, development and change. Venus in Taurus insists that you also make it beautiful, nourishing and sustainable, think: Garden – food & beauty. Taurus energy, whether beginning or completing, always gives you the opportunity assess your priorities. What is REALLY important now? What nourishes, supports and sustains you now? And because Venus is involved, I’d add “Who” as well ~ Who nourishes, supports and sustains you now? The last time Venus was in Taurus was March/April 2015 so use this time as an opportunity to begin anew, seed new ideas and anchor new routines that will help manifest and sustain whatever you’re cultivating at this time. As you pay attention to that which is flourishing (and that which is lagging behind), priorities should be adjusted to support that which is growing and release that which is not. No judgment, just observations. What is strong, healthy, growing and taking root? What is limp, lifeless, draining resources (time, energy, money) and needs to be composted? in your Venus departments: relationships, love & finances.
4/17 ~ Mars Retro in Sagittarius (Direct: 6/29 in Scorpio) ~ The way I describe this cycle is that it is an 8-month Investment for a 16-month Return, energetically. In this case, we’re looking at Jan-Sept 2016 as your 8-month Investment. Mars is extending its stay in the Scorpio/Sag sector of your chart, making it personal, but the general themes and lessons will come up in customized way for all of us. To the extent that you are able to address the issues that come up at this time (Jan-Sept), will determine how that 16-month Return unfolds (Sept 2016 – Jan 2018-ish). Here are some clues or frame of reference: 1999-2003, which were some intense years around the world! (1999-2001 on Scorpio/Libra cusp and 2001-2003 in Sag and before that, 1984 was the last time Mars retrograded through Scorpio).
Now, as before, similar Scorpio/Sag themes will come up. Who you are and what you want on a deeper Soul & Spiritual level is being recalibrated to integrate all that you’ve learned about your Self and your desires during/since those years up to now. Life & Death issues, deep & powerful emotions, fiery ideas & tests of faith, and when channeled through Mars, the inquiry begins with: Who are you (here & now)? What do you want? Why do you want it? What are you willing to do to have/achieve it? Wildly creative & new possibilities are available to us if we just tap-in to our own hearts and true nature. Much is dead, done & over, run its course since the mid-1980’s. Not good or bad, right or wrong, just done. From all that (compost), we seed a completely new Truth & Story, guided by Heart & Soul, integrating more balance between the Inner Masculine & Feminine.
If this is the first time you’ve ever considered working with your personal cycles or planets, Mars is a good one to start with ; -) With your own evolution in mind, how would you like to see the next 2-years unfold for you personally? Reflect on how you’ve grown 2012 -to 2014 -to 2016 and now forward, to 2018. When you check in with your personal motivations and individual desires on a regular basis, there is less Shadow material to work through (and release) all at once. Our culture does not support this aspect of our Nature, so in alignment with any Mars motto: Do It Yourself! As you do this consciously, you strengthen & fortify your Inner or Divine Masculine.
Essentially, we should be re-calibrating our Inner or Divine Masculine every 2+ years like clockwork, and on some level, we all do (consciously or not). I have been practicing for years and can testify that when I work with Mars directly, more things get done in less time and with far fewer regrets than you would imagine. When I slack off with Mars, it’s much easier and more likely that I will get off track, with little getting done and more frustration in the process. Mars reminds us that we are fluid, ever-changing creatures. Who you are and what you want, in general, shifts & evolves as you grow and mature. It’s only when you get stuck in one identity or wanting one thing, that issues arise in the form of detours, delays, denials & do-overs.
Mars represents what you’re passionate about and what motivates you to take action on your own behalf. Purpose, direction & drive are all key aspects to channeling your energy & resources in order to get things done or accomplished. That’s Mars’ department! Mars rules your Inner or Divine Masculine, within both men & women, and it is the part of you that negotiates on your behalf, gets your ideas into the world and maintains good boundaries. We desperately need to develop this in a whole new way, while also recognizing the value of regular maintenance & periodic upgrades. This is one of those blessed times, when we are supported as we recommit to clean motivations & pure desires, that honor ourselves, our nature and all life.
